Cruces Creatives to Create Pilot Exhibits for Children’s Mobile Museum

As the mobile children’s museum project advances forward, with an $8,000 grant from Bank of America, and the $5,000 Devasthali Family grant through the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico with plans to pilot exhibits for the community is underway.

The children’s museum committee has partnered with Cruces Creatives, a nonprofit makerspace to craft the exhibits. Cruces Creatives President and Executive Director, Lea Wise-Surguy is thrilled to begin working on the vision of interactive learning exhibits, “The fact that we’re a space that already works with the community, we’re excited to have the build the projects. The design project will have 2-4 people and two buildout dates and be completed this year, by late spring or early summer,” said Wise-Surguy.

The exhibits will be introduced to the community at public events and locations, to gage public interests and needs for the exhibits that will ultimately be featured in the children’s mobile museum. In November 2018, an RV was purchased by Ngage New Mexico from a private seller. The RV will be transformed into a place where children can develop their cognitive skills and engage with their parents and caregivers and provide information on local early childhood programs.
